What is OpenVPB? How is it different from other ways Indivisible is phonebanking?
OpenVPB, which stands for “Open Virtual Phonebank” is a phonebanking platform. When using OpenVPB, callers dial the number of each voter in the list using their own phones – unlike our other platform, Hubdialer, an “auto-dialer” that anonymizes your number and dials for you continuously until someone picks up. On the other hand, OpenVPB programs allow a bit more control over where you are calling into than our Hubdialer campaigns allow.
How is OpenVPB effective? Who are we calling? What are we calling about?
OpenVPB phone numbers come from the public voter file and consist of people who are likely to support our candidates, our causes, or our actions, though are not always likely to vote or take action. We call these voters to encourage them to vote for crucial candidates in their states, provide necessary information about when, where, and how to vote, or to take action around causes and issues they care about.
